Thanksgiving recap

This year for Thanksgiving, we went to Chicago to spend it with my family. There were 26 people all crammed in my Grandma's dining/living rooms, but it was the best Thanksgiving I have ever had. Usually, it is just a small group of us at my Grandma's, but this year my mom's siblings were all there and brought some more of my cousins. My Grandma has been very sick lately and it was nice to see her enjoying spending time with her family. It was by no means all of us and we missed everyone who wasn't there, but we had a great time. I have very few pictures from the week because we were so busy talking, laughing, and playing games like football, Upwords, and Skip Bo (we pronounce it boo and I know that is probably wrong but we don't care) that I hardly took any. But here are the few I did take:

The living room and dining room packed with tables

My beautiful Grandma, sisters, Uncle Jeff, Chance and Levi

The apple pie that we thought looked like the Grinch...not as much in this picture

Some of the cousins playing a game

I absolutely love the relationship my Grandma and Wade have...it makes my heart happy

 Kyle ruining the picture

 Katie and Wade

 My sisters, cousin and me

Yay for Wireless!

Thank goodness for wireless. We've been without ours for a couple weeks now because we had to send our old router back and wait for the new one. Our new one came the other day and I just spent some time with someone on the other side of the world to fix it because it didn't work when I initially set it up and like magic, it works! Which means I get to sit here online and watch The Office at the same time :) I love modern technology! Remember the days of dial-up? I'm talking about back when everyone had AOL and would spend 5 minutes waiting to connect and hear "You've got mail." Doesn't that seem like forever ago? How sad.

Sidenote: We leave for Chicago in 6 days!!

"Good" weekend with Great people

So our Auburn/Georgia tailgate didn't go as planned. We had this great idea to bring a TV, satellite dish and lots of food to watch the game in Auburn since none of us bought tickets. Ray and Brittany came up Friday night and stayed with us in Cartersville to leave bright and early the next morning. We met Katie, Ryan, Danielle and Miles at the Galleria and off we went to Auburn--after stopping for breakfast and a few last minute "essential" things...

Well, once we got there it was just problem after problem. Instead of spending time enjoying the day playing games and hanging out with friends and family, we spent the whole morning moving the tailgate (5 times!) and trying to get the tv/satellite to work. Which it never did....so we were stuck in Auburn with no tickets and no way to watch the game literally 5 minutes before kickoff. The boys were not happy, and I will be honest, neither was I. The Baptist student union was kind enough to let us join in on their tailgate. Which was great, but a little awkward! I hate that we put so much thought and time into something that just didn't work out. I felt like God was trying to teach me that I can't control everything and my plans aren't always in line with His plans. I feel like I get that lesson a lot--maybe because I have trouble listening to it?

BUT...despite just about everything going wrong and Georgia losing, we had a good time together. Isn't that great--when you love being with the people you are with so much that it doesn't matter what happens, you still have a good time? I wish my parents were able to come, but they had to say goodbye to a dear friend that lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday. Which puts all the "problems" we had into perspective.

I would post some pictures, but Katie took them all on her camera. And to be honest, we didn't take that many--it wouldn't have been that interesting to see everyone working on the tv all day!

A little ranting

Ok, so right now I'm pretty upset about my wedding video. I have been anxiously waiting for the 3 months to be up that the videographer extraordinaire claims it takes to edit the thing and now that that has come and gone without any word from him I am not pleased. I really want to have the video for our trip to Chicago for Thanksgiving so that we can all relive the Cheryl/Eric dance marathon and laugh until we cry! But mostly, I want to see everything again in real time. The pictures are all beautiful and I love them, but it's not the same. It's not that I have forgotten anything or that it went by so quickly that I didn't get to experience it, but I just want to relive that day because it was so happy and fun and truly was everything I could have hoped for.

My first post!

This is what happens on Monday mornings with no patients to see....I create a blog! Thanks to Michele, haha.

So I'm not sure where to start on this whole blog thing, but I guess I can start by giving a little recap of married life so far. I have to warn you, some of the first days of our married life are right out of a sitcom--from the overflowing toilet in the hotel room on our wedding night to Wade accidently pulling the cabinet off the wall and breaking some of the brand new dishes that we got as wedding presents! But don't worry, we survived the crazy bad luck we had those first few days and are very happy in our new apartment (with the cabinet back safely on the wall, broken dishes replaced and the apartment complex is none the wiser).

I have started working as a pediatric physical therapist at an outpatient clinic with lots of great people! I love the kids I work with and am getting used to being a "grown-up." The big downside to working with kids is that I have had a cold/sinus infection thing going on for about 3 months (give-or-take a week). Wade just started a new job at Trimark, thanks to Mr. Bishop! He really likes it so far and has only called me once to complain about traffic!!
